Supply of gas to the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations of the twin cities has been resumed after a halt for nine days. The district administration of Rawalpindi and Islamabad had issued orders to discontinue the supply of gas to the CNG stations to improve supply to the domestic consumers.

Following the closure, Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Central Leader All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) and Central Chairman Asher Haleem took up the issue with Ministry of Petroleum and other relevant quarters and convinced them that closing down the filling stations will not improve pressure. The leaders of the CNG sectors said that CNG stations are not using local gas and discontinuing the supply of gas will result in losses to the government as ample gas is available in the pipelines.
